Anyway, the point is, COB rock, and they rock hard!! The guitar solo and twin attack on ‘Kissing The Shadows’ is the most phenomenal piece of music you’d ever hear in any metal song. The vocals could have been a little less ‘shrieky’ but hey, it’s great still.

it comes to metal guitaring, there’s no REAL answer to John Petrucci. They are largely regarded as the best progressive metal band ever, and they deserve it. All of their albums are great except for the newest Octavarium. The beauty of Dream Theater is that they can make you mad with the bludgeoning Pull Me Under, Lie, Caught In A Web and at the same time make you wanna dance to Another Day or Silent Man. The list of good songs is so long that I won’t even try.

It’s the individual ‘classics’ where ********A takes the edge over Megadeth. all i can do is laugh ,on ur listings..dude u have no idea about metal..how can you place metallica over iron maiden and holy lord black sabbath at no.3(lol)..its really shocking..go listen to some maiden first and then decide!!!!
not to counter your listings though,but i can't ever figure out why people do rank metallica higher than Iron maiden.....It's ironic for Iron maiden to fall behind metallica in any list as i reckon.If quality of music is the first concern of your ranking,then in no way does metallica supersede maiden....
@salehin...."greatest" as a term is more objective than subjective. While you may think Iron Maiden makes better music, as will a lot of others...it's entirely a different matter to rank them in terms of "greatness".
It's one thing to say so-n-so is my favourite band or so-n-so is the best band in my opinion, but quite another to say so-n-so is the greatest. Greatness is hardly ever directly proportional to technical talent. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson etc. were hardly technical marvels compared to many technically outstanding performers of their time, but to say they weren't the greatest is a complete logical fallacy.
